#python asyncio (with colored functions) or #gevent?

No context, just curious about opinions.

Also.
Fun fact.

As people might know, I maintain "pypandoc".

But did you know, that 'pypandoc' actually have 2 packages on PyPI?

The regular 'pypandoc' package that people typically install.
And then it also has 'pypandoc_binary' which comes with a version of pandoc packaged - so you can get started right away.

pypandoc_binary, for the first month, just surpassed 1.000.000 downloads in the last month.

That's amazing news.
That means, that the total pypandoc project has been downloaded over 4.500.000 times over the last month.

That's amazing - I'm so honored.

Just found out I’m supposed to teach a #python course on … tkinker
Some tcl/tk package that dates back from the 90s
Insanely obsolete
Curriculum in some #French engineering school is downright dangerous for students
They’d be better of not taking these course
I’m going to bail out on this one

I currently do my PhD in theoretical , sth in between gravity and quantum fuckery. Happy to discuss any time!
Also developing for half my life, mostly math stuff. Language of choice is .

What you can expect from me: enby struggles, physics nerd stuff, FOSS nerd stuff, whatever comes to my mind

Want to just mention this library - velopack

A next-gen software installer and update framework.
It is really, really amazing. Create updates and installer packages for your desktop application in just one command.

Written in Rust with bindings for Javascript, C#, C++ and recently python, which I helped write.

Bonus - developers are super responsive.
Honestly, I've just been waiting for a project like this. And it's open source too,
I LOVE IT!

1. "To tylko dwa potoki z awkiem, i jeden mały comm, powłoka POSIX doskonale się nada."
2. "Hmm, teraz muszę dołożyć obsługę błędów."
3. "Co, nie ma PIPESTATUS? To jak sprawdzić stan potoku?!"
4. "Walić to, użyję Pythona."

Zwykły dzień w #Gentoo.

@jrovu After 6 years working with Python I've switched to #GoLang and it was the best decision I've did in my career. Because you write code once, but support it forever. Compilation actually save me from 30-40% mistakes I had with #Python

Guten Morgen Allerseits.
Falls jemand eine Alarmanlage von Stadtritter nutzt und diese in sein Smarthome integrieren möchte, ich hätte da ein passendes Python-Script.

1. "It's just two pipelines with awk, and a comm, I'll write it in POSIX #shell."
2. "Hmm, need some error handling too."
3. "Oh wait, there is no PIPESTATUS in POSIX shell? How are you supposed to check the pipeline for errors?!"
4. "Eff it, I'll just use #Python."

Just a regular day in #Gentoo.
