I usually prefer to reach for f-strings when formatting datetime objects because it's a bit shorter than the alternative.

At what point in my life did I take this (wrong?) turn that I'm now writing #ed(1) scripts for everyday automation instead of #bash or #Python scripts. It's not a mainstream thing and I won't get hired for it, so why am I so comfortable with using ed(1) for everything?

Interesting note for those of us more in the programming & open source side of things: the executive director of Our Time is Jeremy Freeman, who is thus leaving the "data and science for climate action" startup he founded

carbonplan.org/blog/board-chai

Freeman is someone #Python folks may have run into through his work on mybinder.org or at Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.

I'm fascinated by the implications for Our Time's approach.

In this brief excerpt of our longer interview, @gau and I talk about the symbiotic relationships between open source projects and community conferences, and how projects grow from organizing meetups at existing conferences to hosting their own, using @nf_core and #Python as examples:

Why yes, I did slap together a little TUI app last night to learn some Textual. And why yes, it's a Mastodon (later Bsky) follow/unfollow tracker. And why yes, I called it peTTY. Source forthcoming eventually.

BTW you can also use the ManT1S-Bridge with the @arduino SPE Shield to simplify your #development. Just be careful and pull the V+PoE jumper if you're on a #PoE switch because the Arduino PoE shield can not handle PoE 48 V, only 24 V!

Below you can see socket access from a #PC to the #Arduino connected on T1S. 👇
On top is a #Python session running the same code as before on #MicroPython, below the Arduino Serial Monitor shows the data arriving at the Arduino using the UDP_Server example code.
