Is there a way on #pixelfed to directly DM posts to my friends? I feel like this is one of the things that gave me trouble with onboarding other people to it. We send each other memes and cute animal posts all the time, probably as a primary use case to be honest, but there's seemingly a lot of friction to doing that within Pixelfed.

I'm going to need #Pixelfed to include some automatic image downscaling because now with the new Pixel 10 Pro my photos are sometimes too big to upload and I am far too lazy to create smaller copies in some other app first.

#silentsunday A statue (designed by Ingrid Mol) for Queen Juliana (1990-2004) at The Hague Central Station. A queen who simply wanted to be like her people. Her statement, "Who am I to do this?" is also engraved on the statue. The statue depicts Queen Juliana during a working visit to demonstrate her social engagement and commitment. She was much loved by her people and a champion of peace. On April 3, 1952, she delivered a peace speech to the American Congress. The Cold War was in full swing at the time. After her pacifist speech, the queen received a standing ovation from American politicians, but Dutch politicians were not impressed and refused to take responsibility for her statements.
