Yes, exactly.
Keep in mind, that the #Fediverse is really a federated universe. #Mastodon is just one type of software to operate a federating instance. There exists variants of it and totally different server software like e.g. #Friendica, #Pixelfed, #PeerTube etc.
Since #Mastodon v4.2 some more #HTML tags are allowed on #Mastodon instances. So if a post contains some of them, the display may consider them... so you end up seeing formatted text.

Just thought I'd see if bluesky was still having problems so I had a look at the tag.
One of the latest posts is for
"bluesky users who might be wanting to diversify their risk"suggesting something that appears to do what #pixelfed does but isn't pixelfed, and noped out.
I'm not against trying new things, but the post just reminded me of the whole air of grift that used to surround certain posters back before bridging became a thing:
hey you might enjoy this instagram-like as you look to maximise your engagement which has not been affected by the bluesky outage ...( full disclosure: I am paraphrasing for comedic effect)

Camera used: E-M1 Mark II paired with Tokina RMC 400mm F5.6 Manual Lens (Nikon F mount adapted to m43).
These photos were taken just off the side of the road next to a wetland in my neighborhood. Photos have been cropped in camera. ISO ranged from 2500 to 5000 and shutter speed for the barn swallow was at around 1/1600th - 1/1250th of a second. Aperture was f/8 - f/16.
All photos are straight out of camera. Not my best, but it was relaxing.

#Pixelfed 's federation seems buggy at best (worse than mastodon). I tried from multiple instances and it never seems to work quite right. Additionally, at least the todon instance seems to have some bug preventing me from filling out my profile.
Overall seems like this software needs to cook a little longer, but the ui and feature set already feel good.
