PHP 8.5 已於 2025 年 11 月 20 日正式發布，帶來了多項令人注目的新功能與改進，包括引入強大的管道操作符（pipe operator），大幅簡化函數鏈式調用；新增 `clone with` 語法，讓物件複製時能更靈活地修改屬性；`#[NoDiscard]` 屬性強制使用函數返回值，防止忽略重要結果；以及 `(void)` 轉換，可抑制警告。此外，閉包（Closures）現在能用於常量表達式，開闢了在屬性（attributes）中使用閉包的新可能。其他重要更新還包含致命錯誤顯示堆疊追蹤、新增 `array_first()` 和 `array_last()` 函數、全新的 URI 解析器、`#[DelayedTargetValidation]` 屬性，以及多項較小的語法與函數庫改進。同時，一些非標準的類型轉換名稱、反引號（backticks）用於執行 shell 命令
