Jean (main co-maintainer) and I have been rebuilding the Event Projecting System in Ecotone from scratch — replacing the Prooph-based engine.

→ Track-based gap detection (no more silent data loss)
→ Self-healing projections
→ Partitioned scaling
→ Event emission from read models
→ Blue-green deployments

I've written one article per topic, new one every week starting today.

▎ Article 1 is live on blog.ecotone.tech.

The UK #php dev who wrote this comment 20 years ago had no idea it would still be running in prod today.

Heck, it's actually a commit from when they moved from CVS to git, so it's even older than that.

No idea who Lord Patel is, but this code displays Australian #Hansard today.

And this code survives again

Spent a couple hours today working with a colleague on a property test using #eris. We found one bug in the implementation of our oracle, which proved that our production code was actually doing the right thing, though it's unclear if that was deliberate or accidental. After that we increased the number of samples to 1000 which actually seems to have uncovered another bug.

Really cool to finally have a good use case for property based testing.

Every optional argument on a console command is more code to validate, test, and maintain. Here's a recent lesson from Aaron about resisting the urge to build for needs that don't exist yet. #php #laravel masteringlaravel.io/daily/2026
