@Crell I feel this so hard — and I should be the perfect profile to want to use “AI”: I’ve always built small- to mid-sized websites and apps then moved more into prototyping at larger companies. But I want to code, not babysit and troubleshoot black box code. Plus, I try to drive home the ethical issues at work constantly but still the drum beat matches on. It’s exhausting. Looking for an exit ramp.l from the “AI” madness.

I'm looking for remote roles or local to the Portland, OR/Vancouver, WA area. Thanks in advance for boosts.

Wow, using generators in #PHP seems to be much simpler than in #JS. I am positively surprised. Just used it for one use case now, but this one felt so much smoother than all the attempts I had with #JS, and there had been a lot of them.
In PHP it seems to be only using the `yield` keyword and I was done.

Many assume that enterprise application modernization is as simple as copying code from a legacy environment and pasting it onto a new platform. But this overlooks the deep-seated dependencies on outdated libraries, frameworks, and infrastructure. 📉

On the latest Zend blog, @adamculp and @mwop team up to make sure you are aware of all the costs involved in modernizing enterprise web applications.

🚨 Heads up #PHP devs:

Starting with PHP 8.5, the php-memcache module is gone for good.

It’s been over 2 months since 8.5 dropped, and the extension hasn’t returned.

👉 Remember: php-memcached has been the recommended option for years.

So that was fun... starting my first 'professional' Python script after years and years of PHP / Joomla extension development. Sometimes experience is not an advantage #lol need to get the hang of how things are done in Python and not blindly try to mold it into PHP best practices.
#python #php #joomla6

Has anyone here on the fediverse any experience themselves and wants to share to get me up to speed?
