No, the Yellow Submarine hasn’t had a paint job, but it was one of my favourite films as a kid and has been a big influence on my videos, especially the most recent song “Here Come the Lucky Ones” and “Avant-Guarded”. The video for “Eleanor Rig...

Funny how the Debian release day turned out to be the one I switched my #Peertube instance to #FreeBSD 🤭

It was not even done on purpose!

To me the main issue seems to be one of costs. They'll do it if it's profitable. For that we need to find enticing, but non-evil forms of monetization (subscriptions? #podcasting 2.0 sat streaming? Something else?) and find ways of helping to lower the cost of hosting, which I still maintain could be strongly helped by creating a desktop app that automatically seeds videos the user favorites. This way users, who often want to support #Peertube can add their storage and bandwidth to the network rather than the costs being all on the video creator.

If we can make it easier to bring income in with less costs, the hatred many Youtubers feel for #Youtube should dp the rest.

Lol. I know basically nothing about webdev, but somehow manage to muddle through. That said, livestreaming video takes a lot of, well, pretty much everything (ie ram, cpu, storage and bandwidth). The good news is that most VPS's will happily let you up/downgrade with just a few clicks, so you can always take your best guess, post a question asking if it's nuts and then upgrade if it holds up, or downgrade if you're just not using resources you're paying for. You can also look at the hosted solutions and see what specs they're using.

The main point is that you can tweak as you go so don't get too overwhelmed trying to guess the perfect numbers.
