I don't understand #peertube statistics yet. I have a video with 70 views, but 216 "unique" viewers from 57 countries. Are those just crawlers and bots, and the site can tell when an actual person watched a video? Just a curiosity; I'm not worried about views or analytics, it's just a handy place to show videos to friends that doesn't subject them to more Youtube and google surveillance.

#peertube #wolfram #cellularautomata #physics

I've been following Wolfram on and off for decades. Not for his Mathematica, now Wolfram Language, stuff, but for his cellular automata work. I've read A New Kind of Science, some parts more than once, and I intend to start a deep dive into some of the material that branches out (pun intended) into Wolfram Physics.

sepiasearch.org gave me the following TedAI video, in which Wolfram compactly describes his physics work:

Withdrawing from streaming services with their endless crappy algorithms is something I'd definitely recommend. I still read paper books and I tend to download music (from non-big-tech sites), rather than stream it. I'm even thinking of returning to Blu-ray for videos.

Veronica here sums it up - especially from the 08.10 timestamp. (Yes, it's a streaming video, but it's from federated PeerTube).

Still on #YouTube? It's time to move to decentralized video sharing via #PeerTube as I have done. You could lose it all in a heartbeat to #AI #enshittification.
