@aurelien En même temps, aller sur Youtube pour se manger de la pub, ça fait pas trop envie... Il y a pourtant des alternatives comme #peertube pour publier des vidéos.

@viq If you're only looking to live stream I'd suggest trying #Owncast first. It's got more tools built-in oriented for live streaming. #PeerTube has plugins you can install but it's more about long-term video storage, It's where I store my VODs.
Be aware Owncast is single-user-per-instance only. PeerTube does allow for multiple users sharing the same instance though you have to have the physical* resources to support the multiple ffmpeg processes.
* virtual servers also work

I'd like to get you paid to make a great #owncast + #peertube Roku app.

Dear #linuxaudio enthusiasts, #musician (s), and #musicproducer (s), what topic would you like me to cover in my next Linux Audio Soliloquy #video on #peertube and #youtube?
Can someone help me understand how to livestream to Makertube using OBS?
I somehow did it before - now when I try to Publish > Go Live, I get the error "Error Cannot create live because you created too many lives"
What should I do here?
My goals is to occasionally create tutorials & workshops for open-source creative tools (example: Python, ffmpeg)

A lot of people don't realize that, in music, traditionally everyone BUT the artist is paid first. If there are pennies left, the artist gets that. As one of the members of a band with a hit song told my father, the end result of their success was that their manager got a new Cadillac.
Bands today sell merch as they tour to make money. I think that's sad. Imagine an opera diva hawking t-shirts to sell enough to be allowed to perform again.
Then there's the even sadder old method, but the t-shirts were tickets to a gig on a Wednesday night, and there was a quota.
PeerTube and Faircamp are significant improvements to the business-as-usual streaming model, but they are also better than the old make-money method, which resulted in coke-snorting bar and venue owners (on their desks, to remind visitors to leave some for a better night and time slot), and managers with nice rides.
Now, get out there and support your local musicians!!
