This is a bit of a review of 2025 and an outlook to 2026 regarding #MakerTube. The platform matured a lot in the last year. We had a lot of growth, but also technical stability improved a lot. This is primarily thanks to the moderators while I could focus on operations. Thanks a lot for your work and support! Also, Framasoft is doing a great job to improve #PeerTube and incorporates our feedback. 1/4

Seit Nov 2025 führe ich eine Art #Experiment durch: Kann ich genug (deutschsprachige) Zuschauer für #Peertube begeistern, um dort einen #Gaming Kanal mit Let´s plays zu betreiben?
Der Focus liegt auf Survival- und Aufbaugames, die Videos sind geschnitten, es gibt #Untertitel und täglich mind. 1 Video. Mein Gequatsche im Video konzentriert sich auch auf das jeweilige Game. Für 2026 ist die Finanzierung gesichert.

Ich plane übrigens meine Peertube Instanz von meinen Hetzner Server zu einem Server bei mir zu Hause zu verschieben (vorausgesetzt ich kriege mit dem #OpenWRT Router das Routing hin).
Das hätte zwei Vorteile:
1. Ich könnte meiner Peertube Instanz mehr Speicher gönnen.
2. Ich würde pro Monat knapp 145€ sparen da ich den Hetzner Server dann kündigen könnte.
Da ich Gigabit Internet habe, sollte die Bandbreite eigentlich auch ausreichen.

I’m not one of these cynics who is 100% dead-set against Machine Learning. It has some cool capabilities that are hard–if not impossible–to replicate in traditional software. But there’s a RIGHT WAY and a WRONG WAY to implement AI. Mozilla’s going about it in DECIDEDLY the wrong way.
