It came up elsewhere, but, as a note: I will not donate to or materially support any #freesoftware or #opensource project that welcomes any amount of funding or material support from Anthropic, or any of the other LLM companies, or Google, or Meta, or Amazon, etc.
If technofascists are welcome in your project & community, you are not worth supporting.
This has been policy for my part for a while, I don't usually mention it, but, under the current circumstances, others should to do the same.

Blender accepting money from Anthropic (OpenAI) highlights a fundamental problem with "Free, Open Source Software" (#FOSS).
People tend to latch on to the first word, "free", as in "software I do not have to pay for!"
"The Free Software Definition, adopted by the FSF, defines free software as a matter of liberty, not price"
Take a moment to think about all the FOSS software you use, how much money you save by not having to use commercial software.
If you can, and do not, pick some of these projects, and donate.
Having a user say "I'll stop using your software!" means nothing if this user give you nothing.
But enough of the people donating to Blender says "my money goes if Anthropic's money comes", it means something.
Creating quality software takes time. Money buys developers time.
Give a lill bit of what you save back!
