5 Million Lines of Code. 5 Million Stories.

A couple of weeks ago, we silently crossed an important milestone for the ScummVM project; a milestone we are very proud of.

ScummVM’s code base now contains more than 5 Million Lines of Code, crafted by more than 900 contributors over almost 25 years.

Happy Digital Independence Day to all Canadians who are transitioning away from the #TechBros to #OpenSource applications. What alternatives, large or small, have you implemented this past month? What are your plans for the next 30 days? Tell us what you're working on and encourage others to get started.
Start small, take baby steps to make it easier to reduce your reliance on U.S. based technology.

If your looking for lower cost code signing certificate for an open source project then Certium has options:

certum.eu/en/

€69 for the first year, which apparently includes a USB device to house the certificate hardware, renewals is a lot less.

Seems like a good option, although I've not tried this personally πŸ™‚πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Seit einiger Zeit nun habe ich "NAPS2 - Not Another PDF Scanner" im Einsatz. Kam auf Anhieb mit dem Netzwerkscanner klar. Zudem kann auch Firefox immer mehr PDF bearbeiten.

As AI adoption accelerates, so do the risks β€” from prompt injections to malicious AI agents and adversarial abuse. This AI Security Village session explores AIDR Bastion, an open-source GenAI protection system designed to secure AI workloads through layered detection and prompt filtering.

The talk covers how AIDR Bastion acts as an LLM firewall and reverse proxy for AI prompts, using Sigma and Roota rules to detect malicious behavior, harmful content, prompt injection attacks, and AI-assisted malware generation. Attendees will also see how the system integrates with MITRE ATLAS, OWASP LLM Top 10 guidance, and existing detection engineering workflows.

Andrii Bezverkhyi is the founder of SOC Prime and a long-time contributor to the threat detection and cybersecurity community, known for projects such as Uncoder and DetectFlow.
