PSA to GNOME Calendar contributors: we just merged a pair of refactoring branches that rearchitect tons of code to eliminate a whole class of problems in the backend and the views: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-calendar/-/work_items/1496
This unfortunately means many contributors with pending merge requests will have to manually rebase and deconflict their code on top of the latest main branch. It may feel like reloading a Patlabor's revolver, but should be worth it.

I don't have a car, but what the holy hell is happening with on-board car computers. They're proprietary and locked down, they always know where you're going and they have a microphone that you have no way of knowing if it's on.
Privacy nightmare. Not to mention every brand ships a different shitty UI.
Are there any efforts for open standards? Are there any cars that allow you to choose your own OS?

Had my first-ever PR come in on GitHub that involves AI. It improves memory usage and performance for miniflac, my single-file FLAC decoding library.
I can't accept code written by AI and, I think if I keep code up on GitHub I'm kind-of contributing to all the AI nonsense?
None of my projects are particularly popular. I got so excited when I saw the notification, description, etc. But then I see that "co-authored by claude" and by heart sank. I can't accept it.
