BZK richt Open Source Program Office op
Om het open source werken binnen BZK te stimuleren en faciliteren wordt een Open Source Program Office(r) (OSPO) opgericht. Het belangrijkste doel van de OSPO is om interne blokkades en knelpunten rondom open source weg te nemen.
Afspraken
De OSPO maakt afspraken met de verschillende onderdelen van het ministerie van BZK over het uitvoeren van pilots of het open source maken van bestaande applicaties. Hiermee wordt de nodige kennis en ervaring opgedaan om de omschakeling naar open source-werken te maken.
Samenwerking
De OSPO wordt onderdeel van CIO BZK en gaat samenwerken met verschillende beleids- en stafdirecties. Bijvoorbeeld op het terrein van inkoop, openbaring van overheidsinformatie en de European Digital Identity wallet. Op deze manier zet BZK concrete stappen in het toepassen van het ‘open, tenzij’ beleid. Daarnaast is het oprichten van een OSPO een aanbeveling uit het adviesrapport dat eind vorig jaar verscheen.
Aankondiging
Tijdens de EU Open Source Policy Summit kondigde staatssecretaris Alexandra van Huffelen, de komst van de OSPO aan. Ze vertelde in een videoboodschap wat de belangrijkste plannen van de overheid zijn om open source-werken te bevorderen.
