When I find a new open source project, my first impulse is to find the actual source code and take a look. With a small one, it's not a problem, I probably found it through GitHub or whatever already. With a project big enough to have a website promoting it... The link is usually weirdly hard to find. It's so odd. On some corporate-backed project websites your best bet is to look for the GitHub icon next to the social media ones, which… Like, why???

Das soll jetzt aber keine Rechtfertigung werden, sondern eine Erklärung. Im Auswahlprozess lege ich, @h0ldi Wert auf #OpenSource und nach Möglichkeit #Freeware. Wie gesagt, unsere finanziellen Möglichkeiten sind endlich. Mir ist bewusst, dass es Dienste wie Steady gibt um die Finanzierung von Projekten auf mehrere Schultern zu lupfen. Vielleicht werden wir das auch mal so machen. Wer weiss wo alles hinführt.
