🧠 Lumo 1.1 is out: a faster, more capable AI assistant with zero-access encryption & open source apps. Claims 200%+ improvement in reasoning and better privacy than Big Tech AIs. 🔐

Anyone here actually using Lumo? Is it really private and secure in practice? Curious what others think. 🤔

A Google-verified Chrome extension, FreeVPN.One, has been exposed for secretly spying on users—capturing screenshots, tracking devices & locations since April 2025. 🕵️‍♂️

Still live in the Chrome Web Store. 🧩
No real org info, vague ToS, and silence from the dev. ⚠️

Free doesn’t mean safe—unless it’s open source. 🔓

🏆 A big milestone along a decade-long road.

🌐 Governments around the world now understand the value of #OpenSource for global digital cooperation, & are rapidly working to become "good citizens" in the global community. Efforts like the #UN Open Source Principles help to bridge the connections that will make those contributions successful. #RedHat is a good role model of private sector contributions.

🇺🇳 Congrats to our Open Source United team for these ongoing efforts!

Dear fellow nerds,

I recently started to use aerc, synched with mbsync.
Unfortunately, I'm facing a rather annoying problem with Gmail:
1) I read emails (flag "seen") and move them to the archive;
2) run the mbsync <account> command to sync;
3) the mails are correctly moved, however, they seem to lose the "seen" flag, and they revert to unread.

Am I missing something? Any idea what could be the problem?
If it matters, I'm on a Wayland session on NixOS.

Thanks! :boost_requested:
