Ugh.. dang it.... @mixxx is great software but it runs the db and settings files LOCALLY and thus in spite of installing it portable you still need to get into system files to access to DB. You can't roam with your database. You have to overwrite whatever is in the local library.

That is super annoying. A truly portable Mixxx would have been so great. At least I know now rather than tomorrow.

I actually like this form of code contribution. If I was the main dev of my project, I get to choose which part of code that somebody contributed and then I can either incorporate some or all parts of their code or modify it to my needs and/or wants without having to worry about contributors wanting some form of recognition, or I could just outright reject it if it doesn't fit.

Wrote this little kanban CLI tool this week. It stores everything in plain text (markdown / yml). Used it for a couple days and I'm happy enough to share it (very v0.1). Full article about it tomorrow.

Shaun Thomas just released a new extension that increases max_wal_size if there are too many forced checkpoints over checkpoint_timeout. As per his description, it's "like having a tiny DBA as an extension" 🐘

Base max_wal_size on system activity rather than a randomly selected number. Achieve better database performance for high write loads. All with the power of 🚀
