From Friday, September 12, to Monday, September 15, 2025, the annual JabCon took place in Zwiesel, #Germany, where the majority of the #JabRef maintainers and some members of our non-profit organization, JabRef e.V. met in person and worked together to improve JabRef and discuss the roadmap for future releases.
This year we focused on release-critical issues and also on publishing our #VSCode extension that is one of this year's #GSOC projects.

WebP is a great format, your app is the problem (usually on Windows)
- it can do the lossy job of JPEG but better
- it can do the Lossless job of PNG but better
- it can do the animation job of GIF but better
- it does transparency
- it's Open Source & royalty-free.
It is fully supported by every web browser, and most image viewers and editors.
It's been around 14 years.
If an app/website doesn't support WebP it's on them at this point
