Omarchy is buggy. Very buggy. The app menu wouldn't open (it said elephant couldn't be found, even if it was fresh out of installation), then there was an all around slowness on larger apps (btrfs issue?).

There is some major bottleneck somewhere. The cpu was low, mem was low, but there was some weird slowness from the get go (i/o ?). And then weird errors.

I don't know, I didn't get good vibes from this distro at all. It's overhyped.

Gestern wurde im JuNo erfolgreich ein Rechner für Battlefield6 gefixt.

Heute in den (OSM)-Nachrichten: Battlefield6 nutzt OpenStreetMap-Daten und erwähnt das auch in den Credits.

Big shoutout to mastodon.social/@AndresFreundT for spotting the XZ backdoor in March of 2024! 🙌
Curious why Linux distros didn’t catch it? My new post explores how the malicious changes showed up in Debian’s import of the upstream version and if the Debian maintainer could have seen them: optimizedbyotto.com/post/xz-ba

Worth adding here that the vast majority, if not all, Linux distributions have built in storage encryption, will run very well on older hardware (even some old Chromebooks) and the entire operating system comes to the user free of cost and free of surveillance.

A signed mm command allows memory edits, disabling signature checks & enabling persistent bootkits 🔐
Not a breach—an oversight. Fixes are rolling out. Users should update firmware or apply mitigations 🔧
