I don't think anything illustrates Emacs's beautiful hackiness quite like the experience of running into a bug while using Emacs (in this case, a consistent double-input when pressing ctrl+space on my Android tablet) and being able to write a patch for the bug from inside your Emacs config without even touching the source code or building anything.
