Honest limit on the alsa-utils finding:

The Claude Code voice client is closed-source. Installing alsa-utils restored voice mode, so the recording path probably ends at arecord or a sibling binary.

Probable, not verified. The strict claim stays: alsa-utils was the missing piece.

Regardless of how one feels about LLM-backed generative AI, even the maximal ballyhoo should never *mandate* its use for any activity — especially non-profit work of any kind.

Sadly, this fits with the tradition of grant makers encouraging non-profits to adopt proprietary software (cf: Black Baud's Raiser's Edge).

Meet Miri, an open source keyboard first tiling window manager for macOS inspired by Niri on Linux.

Instead of stacking windows everywhere, Miri organizes apps into smooth horizontal workspaces and columns that are easier to navigate with shortcuts or trackpad gestures. It works directly with normal macOS windows using Accessibility APIs, so apps like Chrome, VS Code, Finder, and Terminal continue behaving like regular Mac apps.
