NetAlertX is a self-hosted network monitoring tool that shows every device on your network , and alerts you when something new appears.

Runs locally, supports Docker, and integrates with Home Assistant. No cloud required (unless you enable notifications).

Great for spotting unknown devices and keeping your network under control.

👀 … sfconservancy.org/blog/2026/ap …my colleague Denver Gingerich writes: newcomers' extensive reliance on LLM-backed generative AI is comparable to the Eternal September onslaught to USENET in 1993. I was on USENET extensively then; I confirm the disruption was indeed similar. I urge you to read his essay, think about it, & join Denver, me, & others at the following datetimes…

If you need more examples of how awesome #Immich is:

This morning I wanted to find a certain photo I took during the rain.

➡️ Opened up iPhoto and typed "Rain." It spit out a bunch of useless results (like 1800 "Rainforest" images which were basically every forest photo I've ever taken, most in clear weather) or text results for the word.

➡️ Opened Immich and typed "Rain." Tons of photos AND videos. Found what I wanted! It wasn't super accurate but it produced results!

NEWS: A new Claude Code plugin called `/extract-design` crawls websites and extracts full design systems—colors, fonts, spacing, shadows, components—in markdown optimized for AI interpretation.

ANALYSIS: A genuinely useful tool for bootstrapping projects and documentation. Worth thinking through how source sites get credited—or don't—when their design systems become prompt fodder for AI.

I built another thing!

This time I was attempting to make nice themed #markdown slides. I wanted them to look the same on Mac,Windows and Linux hence choosing markdown and not doing a keynote/pptx conversion. But there isn't a nice editor for #marp that I could find that worked on all platforms, so I wrote one! It can be installed via npm.

npmjs.com/package/marp-ui

Hopefully someone else will find this useful too!
