Sam Lantinga's SDL added an AGENTS.md on April 15 refusing AI-generated contributions. The reasons cited: license exposure, hallucination, and authorship. Two days later Linus Torvalds merged Namjae Jeon's NTFS rewrite into Linux 7.1. Four years of human work, beating the old ntfs3 driver by 35 to 110 percent on multi-threaded writes. The week's two biggest open-source stories answered the same question. One said no AI. One said four years of an engineer.
