Can employees "liberate" an employer's code using LLMs? I am certain it wouldn't fly during work hours ("time theft") but what if you access the code after work? If that wouldn't fly either, could open source projects setup a pseudo-employer-employee relationship before allowing code access to hold people liable for stealing the work?

taibai 0.3.0 is out — Milestone 2: Core Reading complete!

taibai is a Fediverse CLI tool built on longwei. The goal is a full-featured terminal client for Mastodon-compatible instances: post, read, and manage your account without leaving the shell.

What's new in 0.3.0

- taibai timeline — fetch and display timelines right in your terminal. Supports four feeds: home (your home timeline, and the default), public (the federated timeline, with --local or --remote filters), tag (any hashtag timeline), and list (a specific list). Use -n to control how many statuses to fetch.

- taibai view <url-or-id> — read a single status by URL or numeric ID. Pass --context to show the full thread: ancestors above, descendants below.

- --json on all data-returning commands — every command that returns data now accepts a --json flag that dumps the raw objects as JSON, making it easy to pipe into jq, fx, or any other tool. Works on timeline, view, whoami, and notifications.

What was already there

- taibai post — publish a status with optional CW, visibility, media attachments, or polls. Reads from stdin too.
- taibai notifications — show unread notifications (or all with --all).
- taibai whoami — verify your stored credentials and display account info.
- Multi-profile support via --profile / TAIBAI_PROFILE for managing several accounts.
