Qwen 3.6 27B outscores the 35B on code accuracy — despite hitting just 18 tok/s versus 72 on the same M5 Max. The smaller model just thinks harder.
Parameter count is a lazy metric. For code gen tooling, reasoning depth beats throughput — especially in latency-constrained environments.
