La startup china DeepSeek ha lanzado la versión preview de su modelo V4, optimizado para los chips Ascend de Huawei. Este avance marca un hito en la búsqueda de autonomía tecnológica de China, desafiando el dominio occidental con capacidades avanzadas de agentes y código abierto (Fuente TheVerge).
El panorama de la Inteligencia Artificial global ha recibido una sacudida desde el Este. DeepSeek ha presentado oficialmente DeepSeek V4, un modelo de código abierto que destaca no solo por su rendimiento, sino por su origen técnico: ha sido entrenado íntegramente utilizando chips Ascend de Huawei, dejando de lado el hardware de Nvidia. Este movimiento es una declaración de independencia tecnológica por parte de China frente a las restricciones de exportación impuestas por EE. UU., demostrando que es posible alcanzar la frontera de la IA utilizando infraestructura nacional.
DeepSeek V4 llega con una ventana de contexto masiva de un millón de tokens y una arquitectura optimizada para funciones de «agente». A diferencia de los chatbots tradicionales, los agentes de la V4 pueden ejecutar flujos de trabajo complejos de forma autónoma, como escribir código de programación avanzado y gestionar interacciones de software en varios pasos. Según pruebas preliminares, su capacidad de programación supera a la mayoría de los modelos de código abierto occidentales, situándose como un competidor directo para gigantes como GPT-5.5 y Gemini 3.1-Pro.
A pesar de su éxito —los modelos chinos ya representan casi un tercio del uso global de IA en plataformas como OpenRouter—, DeepSeek no está libre de controversia. Empresas como OpenAI y Anthropic han acusado a la startup de «destilación», alegando que el modelo imita el comportamiento de IAs estadounidenses analizando sus respuestas. Además, varios gobiernos occidentales mantienen la plataforma bajo vigilancia por preocupaciones sobre la privacidad de los datos. Sin embargo, la apuesta de DeepSeek por el open-source sigue atrayendo a desarrolladores de todo el mundo, consolidando a China como una potencia capaz de innovar a pesar del aislamiento comercial.
