Apropos of nothing, it is a good idea to backup your user data of your #Fediverse account regularly.
It is a _particularly_ good idea if your instance hasn't been updated for a long, long time, since that's a strong hint that your admin might be MIA.
For the record, the current version of your #Mastodon instance is on the "About" page. If it is below 4.5, you should check if your admin is still active, and maybe ask them about their update plans.

I'm seeing engineers fighting other engineers online because we don't know which account is fake and which account is real anymore.
On hacker news, someone is saying to someone else
"You're an account created after LLms were public ally available and don't have any readily available links to public accounts that verify your identity."
Even smart people aren't able to tell truth from lie anymore, and that freaks me out.
This is the worst type of division for any community: finger pointing at each other saying "you're fake" (Remind you of anyone?).
My only hope is that we'll collectively reach such a high distrust of any online platform (and yes that includes #mastodon ) that we'll disengage from it and value in person relations again.
People who know #Mastodon and the #fediverse: can I post a review or comment on #Bookwrym and have it magically appear here?
I like the idea of maintaining a public #reading journal but don't want to copy-paste everything over.
