I don't know if this is a fact about Mastodon or just a quirk about the people I follow, but it seems to me that there is a high - or, at least, vocal - percentage of LGBTQI+ users here.
Why is that? Did an influential queer person join in 2016 and say, "come on in, the water's fine"? If yes, who was it?
I don't use any other social media so it's possible that this isn't unique. If that's the case, please let me know.

If I get it right, muted/blocked #Mastodon accounts can only be found as a CSV export, which means that to unmute/unblock I should:
• copy the account ID
• paste it in the Mastodon search bar
• select “go to the XXX profile”
• sllipsis menu, unmute/umblock
• repeat
This is surprisingly tedious. Is that a UX choice to make it so much easier to mute/block than to unmute/unblock?
EDIT: it’s on the main ellipsis menu, right below “Preferences”. Silly me.

I like:
how contributors are supportive and respectful of each other.
how you can learn more about interesting stuff.
the humour that pokes fun at the awful people who adversely affect our lives.
the absence of hateful stuff.
the wonderful images of the natural world.
the obsession with cats.
I post more than I boost. I only post stuff I have first-hand knowledge of.

Schade, dass auf dem Workshop #Mastodon nicht vorgestellt wird. 🤔
Dabei ist #Hanau doch so vorbildlich, indem es aktuelle Meldungen so zahlreich auf Mastodon postet wie keine andere deutsche Gemeinde. 😍
Mit der aktuellen Programmplanung werden noch mehr Leute in die Silos der kommerziellen Plattformen geführt. Und Deutschland wird ein Stück mehr zur #Digitalkolonie der #USA.
Dabei ist das gerade die falsche Richtung, vergl. den #Bundesdigitalminister auf der #republica:
