I really do appreciate what SDF.org is doing with its public and members-only mastodon instances but they're both, and differently, wonky as heck and I get gaps in my feeds.
I think I need to run my own personal #mastodon instance on of one of my vanity domains. Maybe use https://gotosocial.org/?
Am I getting the technical equivalent of a badly behaved exotic pet?
