i have a vid of one sneaking in as some #pigeons eat. or, they come over when the #doves come to me for food at the pool
once one almost ate from my hand but a dove pecked it & ran it off. like they do to their own in the #video

For my other smaller and sparsely-used account, the old posts and media were not of particular interest for me, so I didn't mind leaving them behind.
With this my primary account, I use my posts as a great record-keeping system.
Hence my posting of random ephemera. It's great fun to be able to see the last time I made a pie, check my old reno-project dates, and travel dates & events (haven't done much lately!)

Deep thoughts: as much as I like Mastodon, there is a huge difference between ⭐ favorite and ♥️ like, which the platform does not account for, when compared to other social networks. Same thing when you look at ⭐ favorites vs 🔖 bookmarks when compared to browsers.

I still intend to move to another #Mastodon server, though I haven't spent the time to select one yet.
While follows and followers move over nicely (I've done it in already with another account I run) it's a deterrent to moving that you can't move your post & media to your new home.
I see you CAN download an #archive of all your posts, media, faves, blocks and mutes etc. I'm glad to have just verified that. It's there under Preferences > imports and exports.
