I agree wholeheartedly with the message in this post, but cringe a bit at the language.
It's really preaching to the converted and IMO taking a few lazy jabs that detract from the message and don't really land.
e.g. "the whims of out-of-touch and overpaid people who believe they should have unchecked power"
Well... are they out-of-touch or just power-hungry? Does it *matter* if power-hungry people who want unchecked power are also in touch? I don't really think so...
But, of course, I fully endorse the underlying message: civic institutions should be using open platforms to communicate to their citizens. It's dangerous to put so much power in the hands of private business. Doubly so when the business is essentially in the hands of a foreign power that is potentially hostile.
Sure, when most of these institutions set up shop on Twitter they didn't foresee ... all this ... but perhaps they should've planned for bad outcomes.
Heh "hashtag messaging" has _two_ meanings here.

Я за этот день очень сильно устал, т.к. ждал сообщение от человека из social.nazlo.space, друзья попросили его его помочь мне с переустновкой Kuma Uptime, с основного сервера его удалить и крч, установить на новый сервер, который я отдельно заказал. и на основной сервер надо установить Mastodon, чтобы можно было другим кому не подвластен Sharkey общаться было там.
Завтра я жду сообщения от человека из Теплицы, который поможет мне с установкой Matrix на сервер.
Я просто пиздец, как надеюсь, что ему хватит 2 CPU, 4 ГБ RAM и 500 ГБ Диска
