Sooo, 1/2 year ago I bought a #soundbar, to have acceptable sound on my PC. Turns out, it turns itself off after like 3 minutes without any significant input. Manufacturer says for legal energy saving requirements. So now I #hack ed together:
1. A short sound file of about 6 seconds, fading from silence to 30Hz and back to silence. (20Hz did not work reliably at low volumes.)
2. A #python script to play this file in a loop.
3. And a #systemd service to automatically run it.

Sad that this was required to make the hardware usable :(

Using git on configuration files for an application has paid off today. I updated a program on my desktop today and found that the update changed a preference that I had set.
I can change it back to where I had it now that I know it changed and that git can show what it was before today's change.
