Friendly reminder to don't use #discord for documenting projects.

Discord is a debatable chat server for connecting users to project's authors, but the documentation should live along the project in #git.

I am tired of searching the wrong terms for something and being told to read pins.

If you are developing an IT project, you'll probably have the knowledge to setup a #github pages, #gitlab pages, whatever... Or if you are developing 3D models, use the Voron_Mods repo...

It solves all sorts of problems. I did a #git #InteractiveRebase just this afternoon.

This evening, another tick off on my "escape corporatism" checklist.

I finally migrated my repos from (i.e. ) to . Went easier than expected. I moved them one by one using Codeberg's web UI. Deleted some clutter in the process.

FYI: for some repos, I needed a personal access token, but only the “classic” version worked.

A little fine-tuning is still needed, e.g. for static Github pages and external links to the old repositories. Also need to add licenses.

This might be ridiculous but I clone my repos in a directory e.g. ~/.local/src/com.github/freecad/freecad or ~/.local/src/org.codeberg/guix/guix too many repos with name collision etc otherwise

All of you Emacs users out there should check out Magit. It’s amazing! If you use Emacs and git then you owe it to yourself. I have even seen folks online who say they edit code with a different editor but still use Magit for git.

Give a little if you can, too. I had been meaning to for a while and finally just set up a monthly donation. I really don’t want to even imagine doing my job without Magit at this point. It’s that good.
