Reworked the code owners file in a git repository in GitLab.
Learnings: Use sections, absolute paths, and avoid defaults with wildcards without sections, because they result in logical AND instead of OR. Goal was that at least two other team members can approve a merge request.
Testing with two different branches helps to find the desired configuration.

After using gitea and gitlab i can say that gitea is just easier, does it have all the feature bloat(that i kinda like in my software) no, is it way easier to use, yes. its like shotcut vs Adobe Premiere Pro.

I'm a small yet powerful git forge. Download one binary, launch it and you have a forge that can :
- create git repositories
- manage who can access to what repositories
Nothing more, nothing less.
Install plugins and you will be able to:
- create issues, roadmap, sprint, milestone…
- represent them in boards
- review/merge branches (called grafts in gitroot)
- represent them all and many more in a web interface
