The fact that so many projects have a git repository for tracking history of the code and a separate wiki for maintaining the documentation is an interface failure.

There is no reason the documentation can't live with the code and use the same version control architecture but for a simple solution for surfacing secure changes to a subset of the repository with far lower credentials and a different model of review then are needed for code modification.

It makes me pause and wonder how many problems are in reality the problem of interfaces and authentication being bullshittedly complicated.

Have created a boilerplate for @forgejo in my boilerplates repository with hopefully a complete way to enable ssh passthrough.

Okay back on the socials, and to kick it off I have wrote about and worktrees.

What I find awesome about it is the productivity gains, as well as the ability to context switch in a safer way

Was looking for lightweight way of building cloning a git repo clone and using othe gitr commands within an R script. {gert} git client sounds useful.

Will be moving off of GitHub soon — anyone have any recommendations?

Notes:

- this is for commercial, closed-source projects
- *strongly* prefer a host outside the US, Canada would be ideal
- while self-hosting is an option, for business reasons a third-party host is preferred

Worktree.ca looks interesting and reasonably priced, anyone know anything about/have any experience with them?

#git allowing abbreviation of commands can be nice, but maybe accepting the argument `--tag` as a shorthand for `--tags` isn't ideal.
