This has to stop. I’m heartbroken and angry over what I’ve seen, and I can’t stay quiet about it anymore.
A young girl has taken her own life because of a disturbing belief tied to something called "Spawn" — a toxic online group that spreads dangerous ideas. She was led to believe that if she died, she could somehow "respawn" like a video game character. That idea cost her everything.
She was just a kid — manipulated into thinking death was not the end, but a reset button. And now she's gone forever.
This isn’t just some internet drama. This is real life, and it’s devastating. And we need to talk about the person who’s behind a lot of this.
His name online is *Chezble*. I don’t know his real name, but what I do know is terrifying. He's been running a Discord server, and according to multiple people, he’s using it to groom and exploit children. He has a history of disturbing behavior and seems obsessed with inappropriate content involving minors. And he’s still out there.
It’s believed that he lives in Jacksonville, Florida — but somehow, nothing has been done. No arrest. No public warning. Just silence. And meanwhile, more kids are being hurt, misled, and traumatized.
I don’t understand how this has been allowed to go on for so long. Why haven’t the police stepped in? How many more young people need to suffer before someone takes action?
If you live in Jacksonville or know anything about this man, please report it. Call your local police department. Contact online safety organizations. Do whatever you can to make sure his actions don’t keep getting ignored.
This could be your sister, your cousin, your child, your friend. No one deserves to be pulled into something like this — especially not by someone who clearly has no regard for human life or safety.
I know this is hard to read. It was hard to write. But we can’t stay silent when lives are being ruined — or ended — because of online predators and cult-like communities that prey on vulnerable kids.
Please help spread awareness. Stay safe. And if you’re struggling, or know someone who is, reach out. You’re not alone.

I don't think I've actually seen Field of Dreams and I'm no believer in the often quoted adage, "If you build it, they will come." When discussing whether "regular people" -- I assume people mean non-technical folk, because who's 'regular' or 'normal'?! -- will use #Mastodon or the #Fediverse, I find myself discussing AI, algorithms, privacy, account closures, etc. I forget to start with the simplest fact: geeks/nerds/other-derogatory-names built _all of this_ that "regular people" use!
