Imagine if labour unions were federated entities, in the #fediverse. They would sort of be like medieval guilds, with their own internally-decided-upon initiation rituals, and standards to live up to. Like there would be one for all C programmers, one for all rust #programmers, one for all #devops, etc. A person with multiple skills could be in multiple unions. Just like it is currently possible to have multiple #Mastodon accounts on multiple instances.
Project offers by #corporations are given to unions, who provide little bands of consultants, having successfully bid on the contracts.
The beauty here would be to avoid all HR people in the transactions (they would be middlemen cut out of all transactions), and who is earning what percentage of what money would be kept transparent - never hidden.

Is one big flaw in how we generally think about #SocialWeb and #Fediverse development in how we embrace this vibrant feeling and energy that existed at the time the early web was emerging? At that time time the expectations was that the #Web would liberate us.
A decade later we have #BigTech, the Corporate Web and #SurveillanceCapitalism, while #Technofeudalism and #Dystopia are knocking on the door.
Nowadays when we excitedly publish our innovations as we did then, is that still responsible?
