Hey everyone — I want to share something I’ve been quiet about until now.
There’s a song making the rounds that a lot of people think was generated with AI, and it’s caused a pretty big reaction. The creator (handle THE_BYAN on X) is presenting themself as a Vocaloid producer, but many listeners say the vocals sound like Hatsune Miku, Teto, Rin, and other Vocaloid characters — and that AI was used to create them.
A friend of mine looked into it and found THE_BYAN also posts on YouTube and promotes the tracks with animation, which makes people feel like the creator’s whole persona or career might be built on AI content. It comes across to me as misleading and, honestly, like it’s trying to bait outrage and attention. I think they should be upfront about what they used and be held accountable for how they’re presenting their work.
