I found this talk by @andypiper useful as I learn more about the #Fediverse. It's a slow journey, moving away from capital controlled services one by one. Over the last few weeks, I've been watching what is running in the Beamship server and I keep seeing A LOT of idle postgres running. A major memory overhead...
Do we have any clues about this? Shouldn't idle database accesses be getting closed???

Was ich im Fediverse bislang vermisse: Gruppen für spezielle Themen.
Ich war zu lange auf Facebook, weil ich in zwei Gruppen war, die ich jetzt ernsthaft vermisse. Beide waren halboffen, dh, Interessent:innen konnten sich bewerben, mussten aber von der Admin freigeschaltet werden. Gruppen haben echte Vorteile für Interessent:innen, die sich zu einem speziellen Thema austauschen wollen.
Wisst ihr ob, und wenn ja, wie ich so etwas hier im Fediverse verwirklichen könnte?
