#Clickbaiting wurde in Deutschland von der #BILD eingeführt. Ganz ohne #SocialMedia und 50 Jahre vorher.
Und das #Fediverse löst leider das Kernproblem unserer Gesellschaft nicht: das niemand für guten #Journalismus bezahlen will, schon gar nicht vor Ort.

Manchmal wünsche ich mir, die kommerziellen asozialen Medien würden einfach verschwinden.
Ich bin inzwischen ziemlich fest davon überzeugt, dass Facebook, TikTok, X und der ganze kommerzielle Dreck ein vielfaches mehr an Schaden als Nutzen erzeugt hat und ich auch keinen Weg sehe, wie das reparierbar wäre.
Das #Fediverse erscheint mir ein ganz brauchbarer versuch zu sein, ein tatsächlich soziales Medium zu schaffen.

An estimated 5.56 billion people have access to the internet. Across social media there are 5.24 billion individual accounts. But there's only a handful of platform owners.
Something isn't adding up.
This gap leaves room for all sorts of dodgy dealing, god-like complexes, and unlawful behaviour.
Open social media, like the Open Social Web, can be the answer.

Welcome to Vebinet! Vebinet is a friendly social network. Below you will find simple, step‑by‑step instructions to help you set up your account, find people to follow, explore interesting posts, and share your own thoughts with the world.
Set up your profile
You can add a profile picture, a bio, and optionally a header image. You can also link to other sites (like a personal blog).
Connecting with others
To find people, you can click Profiles directory on the bottom right corner, use search bar by typing name, username, keywords or hashtags.
Vebinet will show you recommended profiles to follow. You can choose to follow them.
You can easily search for hashtags (for example #VebinetTips) to find profiles and public posts that use hashtags.
Discovering content
Home
After you follow a few accounts, the Home feed shows posts from those people plus boosted (re‑shared) content.
In this way, you will get a personalized stream of what your network is talking about.
Trending
You can click Trending to see posts that are trending on Vebinet and the whole #fediverse.
Live feeds
Live feeds give you real-time posts published on Vebinet and the whole #fediverse.
To better organize it, you can explore content that is published on Vebinet only, in fediverse, and on both Vebinet and fediverse.
Search
You can use search bar to search for content by using keywords, hashtags, names and usernames.
Publishing your own content
Publishing your own content is very easy and Vebinet makes it discoverable not just on Vebinet, but on other social media platforms too, including other #Mastodon instances, Threads, Pleroma and many more.
To create a post you can click on box showing "What's in your mind" on the right side of the page.
You can publish many forms of content, including text, pictures, videos, polls, emojis.
To upload files, you can drag and drop them to the box or click icons.
After creating the post, you can click "Post" to publish it on Vebinet. Vebinet will also distribute your content to other social media platforms, so you have no need to worry about how to make your content discovered.
Use hashtags
Include relevant hashtags to make your post discoverable beyond your followers.
Visibility of content
By default, every new post is set to be Public (visible to everyone) which makes it easy to be discovered by others. If you want to change the visibility, you have the following options:
Quiet public - post is available to everyone, but not appearing in Live feeds, under hashtags, search, etc.
Followers - post is available only to your followers.
Private mention - post is available only to profiles mentioned in the post by you.
