Alright, so today it was kinda a productive day around here. I got to engage in deep discussions, even though some of the peers tried to ad hominem or strawman the points I sincerely brought to the table. Still I could keep (or at least try to be) respectful to those I was discussing with. It's what really matters.
I don't recall the last time I participated in such deep exchanges on Lemmy. Replies often and quickly reach a plateau, which is sad.
This is what I mean whenever I complain about lack of textual interaction on the internet, particularly the #Fediverse.
And see, I don't bite, I don't attack gratuitously, even though my ideas can sound quite ominous oftentimes. I just want to engage in exchanging deep ideas, learning from it (yes, I do learn a lot from disagreements) and allowing others to learn from it, so everyone (including myself) could get a tad thoughtful about existence itself. #lemmy #threadiverse

Is there a federated internet? As in, a web of server hosts that federate with each other and host a distributed DNS between these servers via a virtual, encrypted network adapter?
This is a thought I had regarding the slow death of the internet and what alternatives could exist. It feels like something that should already exist based on other distributed tech, though I haven't seen mention of this particular means. #federation #fediverse #technology

I'm trying to tell microsoft /apple serfs that there is an advantage to hosting our own server with #opensource software rather than depending on Tech giants such as Go gle and other software-as-a-service places.
When I suggested it, they thought the biggest problem was Foreign hackers and backups needing to be 30 miles away. They never even thought of things such as #AI surveillance or censorship.
What articles or videos could I show to them that might open their eyes a crack?

I think some people love their data to be controlled by a corpo not protecting the data from data brokers.
