Du belügst Dich und Deine Benutzer, wenn Du sagst, Deine Instanz im #Fediverse mit #Mastodon sei und bleibe kostenlos. Da sind Kosten für Hardware, je nach Größe der Instanz und Anzahl der Nutzer, und (virtuelle) Kosten für Administration und Moderation. So kostet dich selbst eine Single-Instanz monatlich Geld.
Solange Du also keine Sponsoren hast, die diese Kosten tragen, solltest Du überlegen, diese Kosten auf die Nutzer der Instanz umzulegen, denn das wäre ehrlich.
