I suppose most people here appreciate art in some form. And, of course, artists need visibility for their work. Yet promoting one’s art can be a real challenge, especially for those who aren’t already well known.
Every day, I see artists sharing their #Instagram profiles to promote their events, showcase their work, and make themselves reachable.
Art, however, is also one of the most powerful forms of resistance against the far right. It’s troubling that we’ve confined so much of it to the same social media platforms used by the global far-right movement to spread hate and disinformation.
If the #Fediverse doesn’t evolve to become more attractive and supportive for artists, how can we expect to break free from the propaganda tools of techno-fascism?

Woran bemessen wir im #Fediverse eigentlich "Erfolg"?
Mein Hirn ist schon so von Engagement und Views und Shares und Likes verkleistert, dass mir gar nichts anderes mehr einfällt. Gehts euch auch so?
Erste Versuche:
- Ein witziger Post ist erfolgreich, wenn ich lache.
- Ein informativer Post ist erfolgreich, wenn ich etwas dazu lerne.
- Ein politischer Post ist erfolgreich, wenn sich ein Austausch entwickelt, der in der Sache weiter bringt.
Sehr individuell - und das ist auch logisch. Aber vielleicht lässt sich ja dennoch eine Gesamttendenz finden? "Wenn er seinen Zweck erfüllt." ist mir da noch zu generisch.
Wäre sicher nützlich, hier mal ein klareres Fedi-Gegennarrativ zur Engaement-Shares-Views-Likes-Reichweiten-Einbildung zu haben.

It really feels like there is no way to get a financing option for people in the US to get a #Volla Phone Quentus. Amazing device - but I know some people that can’t afford to buy it up front and would rather have a carrier deal to finance one.
Maybe this needs to wait until someone else is president here, I don’t know. I’m not an expert in this. By the way - if I don’t get these hashtags right please let me know what the right one is. #askfedi #fediverse #privacy #smartphones
