Sometimes I see users getting upset about things they read about on the FediBlock tag: most of us are posting some of the most vile things written by the most disturbed people on the network. Much of it is upsetting, sometimes even INTENDED to be upsetting, and the screenshots we post are picked to be the literal worst examples we find.
YOU shouldn't have to see that.
I look at #FediBlock and #InstanceBlock as a tool for people doing #Moderation: we're setting aside time to glance over these, non-emotionally, to block these people and servers on your behalf. (At least, I HOPE other mods do that: you shouldn't engage with a misery-feed 24/7)
For Non-Moderators? If you're on a server where you NEED to look at this stuff in order to block it, MOVE SERVERS: Moderation should be blocking these people so you never see them.
Don't expose yourself to this.
Ignore the Hashtag.

I have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING against the Jews who are opposing these crimes. Many are donating to these campaigns, supporting the victims, protesting against Netanyahu, and arguing for a two-State solution. Many have marched with me and chanted âFree Palestineâ.
In that post I wondered whether thereâs enough of them. You know, in my city alone we had 250k people protesting against this genocide. Italy had millions taking to the squares. Israel, on the other hand, didnât have massive protests compared to its population. And most of the protests were focused on getting the hostages back - not on ending the occupation once and for good. And I argued for Jews worldwide to march for peace, with Israeli and Palestinian flags together to give the best message to neutralize the Kahanist propaganda that tries to frame any pro-Palestine movement as a pro-Hamas and antisemitic movement.
But, of course, terrorists like you donât get nuances. Terrorists like you donât want peace. Terrorists like you donât have a functioning brain. Terrorists like you shouldnât even be given the chance of harassing people online for so long. Terrrorist like you have negative added value to this world.
For the Holocaust foundations, Iâll leave it to people that have provided more evidence than me about how Zionist propaganda has taken over them. How it turned them from ânever again means never again for everyoneâ to âweâll respond with all of our might against any aggression against Israelâ. How they donât even care of keeping accurate records of the victims. Can you tell me why the L.A. Holocaust museum was forced to apologize after writing ânever again means never again for everyoneâ on social media, since thatâs the whole fucking purpose of Holocaust foundations? But hey, museums are not my priority for now. My priority for now is to save lives in Gaza. Then, once the Kahanists are gone, we can think of who has the appropriate background to keep the memory of genocides alive - and surely it mustnât be anyone who has the blood of a genocide on their hands, nor anyone with close ties to the IDF and Hasbara.
I hope you realize how pathetic and depraved you are.
Here we are, saving lives, being thanked by people who would have died under the bombs without us.
