Wow, the piece on Sanityware gained some traction. I'm so glad we're all feeling the same way about the state of the web.
For me, the best part isn't some vanity views metric...it was the way you all viewed it - 84% of my readers arrived with no referrer data. The analytics show an audience that values privacy and leaves no tracks. I'm glad Firefox is still a great share of user's preference here on the fedi.
That's a powerful reminder that we're not merely sitting here and passively complaining. We are also actively using these tools and building a better, more intentional web for ourselves. So glad to be a small part of this movement with you all. Chef's kiss. 🙏🥰

It's not. You won't have seen this in San Francisco. But it is happening in the U.K. (which is suffering this to greater extent than the E.U. is, because of Brexit of course).
People are being prompted to agree to new #Facebook / #Instagram fees as of this week, or take the only other option of consenting to all of their personal data being harvested and used, for 'AI' and otherwise, by #Meta.
