Dear #LazyWeb #AskFedi: is there a secret I-am-not-in-California option to "#docker compose build" to not time out if a build step involving software downloads takes too long (like >5min)? All the waterfowl-wending I have done indicates that this is a widely struck issue often but not always caused by broken DNS, but that at the bottom of the rabbit hole there is a hardcoded limit.

The error I am getting is "context deadline exceeeded" which occurs while my container build is (slowly) fetching a compiler tarball from a CPU vendor.

Docker could still be hosting a whole load of potentially malicious images - putting users at risk

Devs are keeping the malicious packages, claiming they're undated and shouldn't be used anyway.

Suche ein #Job wo ich Linux administrieren darf. Habe den #LPIC1. Will als nächsten den #LPIC2 machen. Tue Ding mit #Debian, #nixOS und andern #Linux Distros. Bin im Layer1-4 zu Hause und würde mich gern zum #DevOp weiter entwickeln. Container und Virtualisierung sind kein Problem. Habe jahrelang mit #Proxmox und #vmware rumgespielt. Auch #Podman und #Docker sind nicht unbekannt für mich.
Hat jemand ne Idee oder ein Vorschlag?
