raymii.org/s/tutorials/Finally

PascalDR (@PascalDR@hachyderm.io)

Over the past few days, I've been thinking about learning some data science, and since I have more than one computer and an iPad, I wanted a central solution that would allow me to run JupyterLab in server mode, with F# included.
So I did a quick and dirty docker-compose with the last Jupyter Lab distribution, with Python and Julia included, and the entire .NET-interactive package.
Because, let's face it, who would miss out on the opportunity to work in bed, on an iPad using F# notebooks?
I think no one…

You can find it here: codeberg.org/PascalDR/datascie

Feel free to open an issue if you have any problem or simply an advice :)

Have fun!

Proxmox 9.1 adds support for OCI containers.
That means you can now run Docker-style workloads inside Proxmox using LXC.
I tested it, showed how it works, and covered the current limitations.

:bug: Hmmm... :blobYes:

guix (@guix@hachyderm.io)

Now is the time to submit a talk for the declarative and minimalistic computing room at FOSDEM

lists.fosdem.org/pipermail/fos

If you're into #guix or #declarative #linux then there's lots of interesting areas.

Some ideas:

* building and configuring #guix and #guile #scheme - how particular services are used.
* #guix and containerization / #docker
* deploying #guix services in the cloud / on servers
* running #guix on a hosted Linux distribution like #debian #ubuntu or #suse
* managing development work flows

And so much more ...

It's a super friendly room so submit your talk now! Or talk to @pjotrprins

"The contrast with Docker is striking: while the Docker container required 100% CPU to reach peak for the HTTP and HTTPS throughput, the FreeBSD jail delivered the same speed with ~60% of the CPU sitting idle. In terms of performance cost per request, Jails are drastically cheaper."
