A friend visited today keen to extoll the 'miraculous' benefits of using #AI Insisting that I check it out by asking a question/'prompt'. So I asked a historically real event (though obscure) but framed as hypothetical question. #ChatGpT answered it as if it were the latter, completely missing the actual event. When I pointed out that it wasnt hypothetical but real, the AI agreed I was right. Then I asked 'why does AI hallucinate?' To which it answered that AIs 'hallucinate' when they dont know the right answer. It said AI doesnt have a model of reality and so can't actually 'know' if something is real. So I remain to be convinced.

#Apple basically has nothing to offer, #alexa is a weirdo, and consumers expect #chatgpt to work but won't pay for it. #google has free storage and some processing capability, #Meta is too weird for me but #facebook marketplace is good; nothing else there however once you hit 20 yo. #oracle is the same database it's been for the last 30 years nothing new there, and #nvidia has cool gaming chips, also for 20 yo.
