Wygląda na to, że era „czystego” ChatGPT, pozbawionego banerów i linków sponsorowanych, dobiega końca.
W kodzie najnowszej wersji beta aplikacji na Androida odnaleziono ślady, które nie pozostawiają złudzeń – OpenAI technicznie przygotowuje się do uruchomienia systemu reklamowego.
Odkrycia dokonał Tibor Blaho, badacz aplikacji, który prześwietlił kod wersji beta oznaczonej numerem 1.2025.329. Znalazł tam konkretne odniesienia do nowych funkcjonalności, ukrytych pod nazwami takimi jak „ads feature” (funkcja reklam), „search ad” (reklama w wyszukiwaniu) oraz tajemniczym „bazaar content”.
„Ostateczność”, która stała się faktem
Informacja ta jest o tyle ciekawa, że stoi w sprzeczności z dotychczasową narracją Sama Altmana. CEO OpenAI jeszcze w zeszłym roku podczas wystąpienia na Harvard Business School twierdził, że połączenie reklam ze sztuczną inteligencją jest dla niego „wyjątkowo niepokojące” i traktuje ten model biznesowy jako „ostateczność”.
Wygląda na to, że ostateczność nadeszła szybciej, niż sądzono. Znalezisko w kodzie potwierdza doniesienia serwisu The Information, który wcześniej w tym miesiącu informował, że OpenAI rozważa wprowadzenie reklam targetowanych na podstawie historii czatów i pamięci użytkownika.
Gdzie zobaczymy reklamy?
Choć kod nie zdradza finalnego wyglądu interfejsu, fraza „search ad” sugeruje, że reklamy mogą pojawiać się głównie w momentach, gdy ChatGPT przeszukuje sieć (korzystając z funkcji SearchGPT).
Najbardziej prawdopodobny scenariusz zakłada, że reklamy staną się „ceną” za korzystanie z darmowej wersji narzędzia. Obecnie użytkownicy bezpłatnej wersji usługi muszą liczyć się z limitami wiadomości i ograniczonym dostępem do zaawansowanych modeli. Wkrótce do tej listy dojdą prawdopodobnie treści sponsorowane, co upodobni ChatGPT do klasycznej wyszukiwarki Google.

There is NO PROFIT. #OpenAI and many others are operating with tremendous loss and they have no idea how to turn the ship over. Seems.imaginary billions they keep promising each other with nVidia and stuff doesn't pay electricity bills.
Their best idea? "I dunno bro..., ads maybe!?" So they will sell ads.
